Arco Iris Plaza
A large courtyard creates an interesting outdoor space at the center of this restaurant and office development in a Richmond suburb. The plan works within standard setbacks and parking requirements to provide a destination with some visual interest along a high traffic corridor where the norm is a big box amid a sea of parking. Covered walkways form a gallery overlooking the shady plaza where café tables sit beneath a large spreading oak. A fountain and planter line one wall with openings that frame random views. Painted stucco and tile provide a colorful backdrop for the latin-flavored restaurant. By Rick Schneider with inscape.
